Woven Pomegranates

This is my latest piece of cloth weaving, very fiddly but I'm quite pleased with the concept and the way it's turned out for a first attempt.
I've been intending to explore pomegranates as a theme for some fabric work after being fascinated by the role they play in the traditions, culture and craft I experienced when I visited Jerusalem last year.  This seemed a good time to get started!  Watch out for more of these jewels of a fruit.  http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop/morton/pomegranate.html

  2. pomegranates are so compelling as a design source. saw these on the class blog and was very admiring of how you dealt with the smaller fiddly bits. a lovely contrast of fabrics as well!
