"A wise man climbs Fuji-san once in his life; only a fool climbs it twice"

The Telegraph newspaper had an interesting article about Climbing Mount Fuji in the Travel section this weekend.
Over at their website there are also lots of links to related articles that I enjoyed reading and thought you might too, here are a few of my favourites:
The Gardens of Japan-earthly paradise
Mount Fuji hotsprings - An Englishman naked in Japan
Kyoto - Zen and the art of Japanese gardens
Tokyo - My kind of town
I'm having to get lots of rest in bed after my recent episode in hospital and it's giving me plenty of time to plan and dream about my next trip to Japan!

  2. Very true - I tried skiing once and that was enough, I'd be a fool to try it again!!
Love the Englishman Naked in Japan article!

  4. Oh my, I'm so sorry to hear about your health scare. Big hugs to you. My sister-in-law has Crohn's and several friends have CFS, so I have an idea of what you must have to deal with.

I bet the stitching plays a big part in managing that stuff. I wrote my art therapy thesis on creativity as a tool for helping manage chronic pain - it really works.

Best wishes to you and take it easy.

  5. You are so right Heather, creativity is essential to a healthy mind and body. I am also constantly amazed at how therapeutic some gentle gardening is (as long as I know when to stop!) Without my sewing and my garden I think I would actually be much more unwell and in much more pain than I am usually.
