DH and I went for a lovely walk around the town of Woodhall Spa yesterday and really enjoyed the colours of the trees and the birds singing in the sunshine.
I had a generally relaxed weekend and even got some sewing done. I didn't manage to do any more work on the Cloth to Cloth workshop but I did complete the snowball/framed square quilt I started at a Jane Bottomley workshop a few weeks ago. I just have to slip stitch the binding and add the label. I'm planning to do that next weekend while I'm on duty at the Norfolk Quilters' 30th Anniversary Quilt Show.
Wednesday 13th to Saturday 16th October

I had some goodies in the post too.
A great Autumn block from Teresa, one of the Global Piecers, and she included a lovely bunch of colour-themed threads and ribbons with it and a postcard of her part of bonny Scotland. Thank you Teresa.
I also had confirmation of my place at the QGBI Conference and AGM in April next year. I've got a place on the workshop that Lynne Edwards is doing on perspective in patchwork, I'm really looking forward to that, as well as all the talks, an outing to Jo Colwill's Cowslip Workshops and of course the chance for a little retail therapy. It would be great to meet some of you there, the details and booking form are in the current issue of "The Quilter" magazine.
I found a few interesting links to explore while browsing on the net:
The International Quilt Festival of Ireland takes place in June 2012 and there's a lot of research and planning taking place already. You can keep up by joining their Facebook page:

There's an online quilt magazine from travel company Sew Many Places. Called "Quiltposium" with articles by people such as Jinny Beyer, Sharon Pederson, Luana Rubin, Pat Sloan, Alex Veronelli and Doug Eagleson. There are also "lifestyle" articles: gardening, cooking and recipes, crafts and travel. Signing up is free so I reckon it's worth a look. If I end up with a lot of spam in my inbox I'll unsubscribe!
From today until Thursday we have my wonderful grandson, Sam, staying with us while my daughter does even more revision and then, finally, her OU exam on Wednesday. All my time and energy will be devoted to Sam but I'll be back for Friday Night Sew-In, hope to see you then.

Sound like you've got a busy week ahead! Good luck to your daughter for her exam.
